Subtaerialus is a new and
upcoming band in Western Canada. All four members of the band have
different writing styles in their music, and due to our various
musical influences, we don't confine ourselves to one or two genres,
instead bringing versatility and dynamic range to the stage. A lot
of our music is centered around Celtic Influenced Metal, which we
believe is groundbreaking and exciting new material. Watch for us in
the next year or two as we will be producing at least one full
length album and tour throughout Canada, and hopefully soon in
Europe. |

Aaron
Stewart ~ Lead Singer
I've been
performing since the age of 5, acting in many plays, and performing
with different bands. My love for singing and performing started
early, growing up in the church choir, and whatever other creative
outlets could be found in small-town Saskatchewan. I started playing
guitar at the age of 16 after learning bagpipes, saxophone and other
instruments, and learned bass shortly after, but have been using my
voice as my primary instrument my whole life. After moving to
Kelowna, I joined various local bands, and am now the voice behind
Subtaerialus.
Influences: SOAD,
Tool, Tragically Hip, The Trews, Led Zeppelin, Guns n' Roses, Eric

Lisa Bissonnette
– Backup Vocals
I am originally
from Saskatoon, SK- born and raised, and I moved out to Kelowna just
over a year ago. I’m in my second year of business at Okanagan
College, I have two jobs, and I sing and play guitar as much as I
can.
I have two
passions in life- Music and traveling.
I am an
experienced traveler- I’ve been to England, Thailand, Taiwan, New
Zealand, Australia, and all over North America. I can’t wait to just
book a one way to Europe with myself and my guitar to escape on
another adventure. I love to study language as well- I just spent
six weeks in Quebec this summer studying French. I am also studying
Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and any other random language I can.
My number one
passion is music though- I grew up with country and rock n’ roll. My
dad used to DJ weddings and hoe downs in Saskatoon (yes literal hoe
downs with hay bales, and square dancing). Apart from that I love
all types of music- I mostly play the Beatles and my own music. I
can’t wait to expand my talents and musical abilities more through
entertaining others with Subtaerialus!

Ryan Atzenberger – Lead
Guitar
I have been
playing guitar for over 15 years now. I am formally trained in Jazz
Muscicianship, but now focus most of my energy on Rock/Metal and
Blues Projects. I have played in various music groups around Western
Canada over the past few years, most recently moving to Kelowna and
joining Subtaerialus.
I play a Les
Paul Standard and an Ibanez S Series Custom through either my Mesa
Boogie Dual Rectifier or my Marshall AVT2000 to deliver an
ultra-hard driver-full classic-rock sound. I plan to use my skills
and time with Subtaerialus to bring back the Big Rock solos and
complex lead-driven songs woefully absent from today's
music.
Some of my
influences include – Slash, Joe Perry, Eric Clapton, Kirk Hammett,
Billy Gibbons, Mark Knopfler, Jimmy Paige, Joe Satriani, Jimi
Hendrix and Van
Halen. |

Brent
Ponsford - Rythym Guitar
My instrumental
interests range from metal to classical. I started playing guitar
when I was 16; starting out in the punk rock scene, I naturally
transitioned my styles to more of a heavier sound. I play a Clapton
Signature Strat I won in a draw at a music store, which is the only
thing I've ever won, so I am grateful for that. I just moved to
Vernon, BC, and now hope to expand my musical
experience. |

Grady Baker - Bass/Backup Vocals
I have been playing
guitar on and off for most of my life. Starting with the bass,
switching to guitar and then back to bass to join Subtaerialus. My
influences include Tool, Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, Primus
and many others. |

Patrick
Wilson - Drums/Backup Vocals
I love to write and
play music that challenges me to play intricate or complex pattern,
while still making it work with the music. My set up usually is 12
to 13 drums all Pearl ELX in black burst, with 3 bass drums and
multiple pedals, to explore different bass drum pattern
combinations. Of my 19 cymbals, 10 of them are Terry Bozzio Radia's
because their sound is completely awesome and opens up so many
musical possibilities. I also carry a mixture of AA, AAX, HH and
Vault Series cymbals to round out my set-up for more generic musical
styles. My Kit and my playing styles are very much influenced by
artists such as Terry Bozzio, Dany Carey of Tool, Mike Portney, Phil
Collins, Chester Thompson, and Neil Peart.
